Kent State University, owner and operator of Kent State University Airport, undertook a master plan study to determine the future of the airport. This website contains information about this project.
On September 9, 2015, the Kent State University Board of Trustees deemed the master plan preferred alternative consistent with their academic mission while still providing community programs and benefits. The Kent State University Board of Trustees authorized the submission of the associated airport layout plan for FAA approval. On July 27, 2016, the FAA Detroit Airports District Office issued an airport layout plan (ALP) approval for Kent State University Airport. Download a copy of the final documents here.
